Singapore, 30 September – Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) was conerred the prestigious Asian Human Capital Award today at the 2010 Asian Human Capital Summit. The award recognized P&G’s leadership in designing and implementing innovative people strategies in Asia.
The Asian Human Capital Award is conferred by the Ministry of Manpower, INSEAD and CNBC Asia Pacific. Adjudged by a luminous panel of experts from a cross section of Government, industry, academia and the media, this annual Award recognizes innovative and impactful people practices adopted by Asia-based organizations. This year, P&G was recognized for its breakthrough innovation in creating a comprehensive Employee Value Proposition (EVP) framework that attracts, develops and retains the finest talent.
Reacting to the recognition, Deb Henretta, Group President – Asia, Procter & Gamble, said “We are delighted to be awarded the 2010 Asian Human Capital Summit Award. This recognition is an endorsement of what P&G has believed in for 173 years – People matter over all else. We captured this commitment to our employees in a robust Employee Value Proposition (EVP) framework that takes a more holistic view of employee needs and aspirations than the traditional focus on compensation and benefits only. Celebrating the win, P&G today also officially inaugurated its Asia Leadership Development Center at its Novena Square Office Towers. Located within Procter & Gamble’s headquarter operations in Singapore, this 12,416 Sq Ft multi-faceted training facility is fashioned after P&G’s global Leadership Centres. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Charles Lim, Head of Human Resources – P&G Asia, said, “The Asia Leadership Development Center is an example of how P&G brings the ‘Learning & Development (L&D)’ pillar of the EVP to life. Our emphasis on L&D reflects our commitment to grow the finest Asian talent to lead P&G’s business in Asia as well as other parts of the world”.
This training facility will benefit the 1,400 employees of over 30 different nationalities who are based here in Singapore, besides serving as the regional training platform for 20,000 P&G employees from across Asia.
